MBE partnered with Focus Features for this post
If you have kids and need a break from the chaos, there's nothing like a fun Mom's Night Out with your women friends, right? To celebrate the upcoming movie Tully (Focus Features, 2018), that's exactly what I got to do with fellow mom influencers from around the U.S., both good friends I've known for years, like Jennifer at Real Mom of SFV, as well as meeting some new colleagues.
The occasion this time around was a fun cocktail party event. Hosted by Focus Features and Refinery 29 just for us at the national historic landmark Culver Hotel built in 1924 in Culver City, California.
This was a care free night out with female friends (including some who aren't mothers) to enjoy wonderful movie-themed signature cocktails like The Marlo pictured below, made with Casamigos Tequila, Pamplemousse Liqueur, simple syrup and lime and The Tully, made with Tito's Vodka, lavender honey, and lemon juice.
To go along with the creative drinks there were plentiful sweets and savory bites, a photo booth, and of course -- moms on their smartphones showing off their families and talking about our kids with each other.
The pre-party was just what us moms needed to unwind and get ready to kick back in the theater. This casual gathering was followed by an advanced press only screening of the new movie Tully, scheduled for release nationwide on May 4th. What a surprise it was when the entire Tully cast walked on stage at the screening just before the film started rolling.
About Tully
With Jason Reitman (Juno, Young Adult) at the helm as director, Tully debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The script, written by Producer Diablo Cody, is inspired by her own first-hand struggles and experiences as the mom of three. The comedy/drama stars Charlize Theron as Marlo the haggard mommy of two young kids plus a newborn. Rounding out the headliners in the cast are Mackenzie Davis as Tully, the young night nanny; Mark Duplass as Craig (Marlo's brother); and Ron Livingston as Drew, Marlo's husband. Rated R, 1 hour 36 minutes, from Focus Features.

FTC Disclosure: Focus Features hosted Mommy Blog Expert at a special event and advance screening, in addition to a special mom influencer press conference, prior to the movie's release to facilitate the associated movie review. No payment was received in connection with this post and opinions here are my own. See complete FTC Disclosure that appears at the bottom of MommyBlogExpert's home page and at the bottom of every individual post on this blog, including this one.
