ASUS MeMO Pad 8 Mini Tablet Mom Review

Intel-Powered ASUS MeMO Pad 8 Mini Tablet

The Tablet for Mom's Busy Lifestyle

It seems one of my four kids is always asking me to take them somewhere. One day it's to drive my daughters to the camp where they work, that same morning one of my sons needs a ride to take his driving permit test. As a result I am out of the house a lot and I don’t have access to my desktop computer. This is a problem because, as a lifestyle blogger, I need constant access to the Internet to keep up with writing reviews like this one and other work. When I'm on the go I've tried to get by with my smartphone but the screen is too small and the functions not versatile enough for the tasks at hand. However, the ASUS MeMO Pad 8 I received from Intel has proven to be the perfect tool to help with all of my out of house blogging needs, as well as for mom me-time once in a while playing games and watching movies.

A Mom's To-Do List is never finished and you and I could both use a little help to get through each busy day ....

First off, this tablet comes in an imaginative range of stylish colors. You can choose from the standard White, Black and Gold (which are each so elegant), but interestingly there is also a dark purple version, my personal favorite, to get your fashionista heart pumping. If none of these colors suit you, then you can always buy a case for it, but still it is really refreshing to know that this ASUS is starting to offer other colors besides the standard ones.

At just 8 inches, this tablet is smaller than other ones I have used, but compared to a smartphone it is still massive and doesn't fit in your pocket. Nevertheless, the larger screen and light weight of just .7 pounds (and as a result easier maneuverability through tabs, emails, etc.) is worth it. Best of all, the real beauty is having access to a high functioning mini tablet that I can just pop into my purse or backpack as I'm running out the door.

The ASUS MeMO Pad 8 has 1GB of memory, which is more than enough space when it comes to work. All I would really use it for is writing up blog posts while I’m in a waiting room or stuck in my car for a while, and then email myself the document to myself for when I get home. However, this tablet is not just for work, it's for managing day-to-day family life and entertainment, too. Anybody can use it for whatever they need. and that is where some more of its features come in.

This tablet boasts two cameras: one on the back and one on the front. Most technological products that would normally have one camera now have two, and it is nice to see that ASUS follows this trend. So whether you find yourself at just the right angle for a sunset or feel the sudden urge to take a selfie, with this mini tablet by your side you can easily change between the two cameras with the press of a button.

The mom-friendly ASUS MeMO Pad 8 is an affordable Android tablet offering features and specifications you'd normally only find in higher-end tablets such as ASUS PixelMaster technology and integrated ZenUI.

Product Features
  • 8" LED Backlight WXGA (1280x800) Screen
  • Just .7 pounds in weight
  • Up to 9 hours of battery life
  • Available in white, black, purple and gold
  • OS: Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Intel Atom Z3745 processor
  • Starting at $199
Even in the high tech, fast-paced world we live in today, it's still true that a mother's work is never done and I don’t have much time to sit down and do my work at home these days. But with this tablet, I can get my writing assignments done on the go as well as so much more. Thankfully the ASUS MeMO Pad 8 has more than enough features to keep me from missing my deadlines, while providing a convenient, comfortable and easy to use device. Sometimes I even find myself using it when I am right next to my computer! For sure, this tablet truly is a lifesaver for the crazy busy mom life I lead. No doubt if you have kids, your life may be even more hectic than mine, but you likely can benefit from this cool family-friendly device, too.

  2. This really does seem like the perfect tool. Larger than a phone but smaller than a lap top. Love that it will easily fit in a purse and that I can use it easier than my phone.

  3. My phone is too small, too! Or my eyes are getting older :) I suppose it is a combination of both! I am definitely entering your give-away! Thanks!

  4. Purple is my favorite color and makes me happy even when I have to do work on a tablet. I love that I could take it with me and see it much better than I can my seemingly tiny phone.

  5. I would use the tablet for finding recipes that my family would like. I would also use it to help Griff with his homework and keep our schedule on it so we wouldn't miss anything.

  6. I would use the tablet for organization! My kids schefules need organized so its easier for me to track where they need to be and when for their extra curricular activities.
I would also use it to set up a checklist for their homework.
And finally, I would use it to help me when there is a Dr. Appt., dentist appt., and things like this to keep my own appointments organized.
