Who says iOS and Android users have a monopoly on Halloween fun? As I found out by searching for apps and other fun stuff related to All Hallows Eve that are compatible with my Nokia Lumia Icon smartphone, there's an almost endless supply of FREE spooky resources flying around out there in cyberspace for Windows smartphone and tablet users, too.

1.  Instagram 
This app for Windows is in BETA but don't let that stop you from using it this Halloween. Like the apps that run on the other two major platforms, this one allows you to customize photos within the app and then share the best images with Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and FourSquare followers. Once you try Instagram for Windows you'll see that humans aren't the only ones wearing super hero costumes this Halloween.

This app is also still in BETA and evolving. Nevertheless, Windows users can now discover and pin hundreds of the coolest creative DIY crafts, decor, party and costume ideas created from well-curated Halloween Pinterest boards

Speaking of images, you can really dress up all the holiday photos you take with your Windows smartphone with this app. Check this out and you'll have access to hundreds of Halloween frames to choose from that will fit your horizontal and vertical shots.

Note: Just a few days ago Verizon discontinued the Nokia Lumia Icon which was first introduced in February 2014. Though that model is no longer available, the company still sells the Nokia Lumia 928 smartphone.
